About the Artist

Megan Morein Darby

From a young age, I have always found joy in creating arts and crafts and gifting them to people. What’s better than a gift made with love by your own two hands?

About 5 years ago, when I found out my sister was pregnant with my first nephew, I thought I would surprise her by painting his fetal heartbeat on canvas for his nursery. After many pictures of the heartbeat painting circulated the Internet, I found my inbox flooded with messages to create these special pieces for other people as well. At the time, I was a junior in college at LSU studying biology, and the idea that anyone would want to buy my art was unfathomable. But here we are, 5 years and two science degrees later, still creating art.

“Over the years, I have created many unique pieces, but my passion is bringing fetal heartbeats to life in the form of art.”

When I’m not wearing my white coat or behind a canvas, you can find me in Lafayette, LA, with my loving husband, Nicholas, and our sweet dachshund, Rudy Bean. I love music, exploring new places, trying yummy foods, shopping, and hanging out with family and friends.

Cher Coeur means “dear heart” in French.

As a true Cajun at heart, from the small town of Ville Platte where Cajun French runs deep in our veins, I thought it only made sense to weave some French into the name of my business.
